SHADOWS FROM 2020.

A REFLECTION.

    From where we are...

One day passes, two days pass, three days pass... and Covid continues to threaten us.

Trusting that this will end, we use our time as best as possible.

Reading was my company during those months. Sitting in different places and chairs I realized, with the shadows, how the hours and days passed.

The sun was rising and the shadow, with its short and long lines, marked the ground. I saw how every hour makes its shadow and they are the ones that accompany us.

Those shadows that we leave behind give us a future world full of light, a new day and a new hope to live again.

The icons remain in my spirit. For 45 years they have accompanied me through life as a great friend. I have studied and painted them and I have learned to understand and love them, giving me security and peace.

Now it is the shadows that amuse me, making me think about the new world that this pandemic brought us...

The repetition of my paintings is a process of personal growth and development that distinguishes me, because it is my way of concentrating to learn and remember. By repeating a piece, I know it more and make it more mine. This way, there will always be a painting that will remind me of how I started.
